Splendour Afrique Safaris has a variety of vehicles for transportation by road, besides air and sea-travel options. From 5 seater cars, to 11 seaters, 24 seaters, and 48-seaters, one is assured of a unique experience on the public transport system. Private transportation too is available in 5-, 11-, and upon arrangements 24-, and 48-seater vehicles:

Matatus are a popular mode of transport for Kenyans, and at the request of our clients, we offer tour-guides who can assist with learning how to use the local transport system. This involves boarding a vehicle that plies a particular route. Clear instructions are available on how one can travel using a matatu.

Boda bodas are bicycles on which you can hitch a ride for a very minimal fee of Kshs. 30-70 ($.50 to $1), depending on the distance, and whatever other load you may-be carrying. They are commonly used in small towns such as Thika, Kakamega, Nakuru, and in parts of the bigger cities. We recommend them for short trips due to their convenience.

Tuk tuks are three-wheeled taxis that can ride upto three (3) passengers at a time. They are quite popular in the urban towns of Nairobi, Nakuru, Eldoret and Mombasa. They are licensed by the government, and are very convenient for short trips around the cosmopolitan cities, even at night. They offer an airy ride around town, and are very cost-efficient.

Tour vans are popular too with tourists, and seat 5 to 7 people, thus enabling enough leg-room; this makes them convenient for longer trips between the various game parks, national reserves, and cities in Kenya, from Mombasa (coast), to Lake Victoria, all the way to Turkana at the North most tip on the map of Kenya, to Masai Mara for the annual wildebeest migration.

Private and commercial flights around the country are available upon request, and tourists can also take the train for a scenic view of the Rift Valley countryside, and enroute to the coastal town of Mombasa.
