A. Camping Safaris

For these kinds of safari the following things are usually needed:

  1. Sleeping bags (usually available for hire)
  2. Small bag with personal effects and belongings, including toiletries
  3. Insect repellent
  4. Warm clothes
  5. Camera
  6. Battery-powered torch
  7. Spare batteries
  8. Drinks for consumption in the evening around the fire place.

Masai Mara, Lake Bogoria, Nakuru and Baringo

OPTION 1 (3-4 days)


Day 1

9.00 am: Departure from Nairobi - a van will pick you up from the hotel; you will then journey through the Great Rift Valley. On reaching Narok, a stop will be made for lunch, and then proceed to the Masai Mara for dinner and an overnight stay.


Day 2

The day will be spent viewing wild animals in the rich tree-filled hills and the grasslands of the Mara. All the meals will be had at the campsite.


Day 3

After an early breakfast, departure for Nairobi. Upon arrival will be lunch at the hotel, and a few hours of rest that will be followed by a visit to the National Museum. The evening may be spent at own leisure.

OR

Early morning departure to Lake Nakuru National Park , which is one of the world's greatest bird spectacle  The lake is home to millions of exotic Flamingoes. A picnic lunch will be had by the lakeside. Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel or at the Lake Nakuru Lodge.


Day 4

Departure to Nairobi while enjoying the beautiful scenes on the way. Arrival at Nairobi, lunch at the hotel, and the afternoon is spent at own pleasure.


OPTION 2 (5 Days)


Day 1

9.30am:  Departure; en-route views of the Great Rift Valley. Stop at Nakuru for lunch. Afternoon exploration of Lake Bogoria on foot. The springs are constantly at boiling point and so are super hot. Set up overnight camp.


Day 2

Drive to Lake Nakuru for scenic view  from the Baboon Cliff, and then drive back to Lake Baringo for more viewing of the waterbuck and the birds (flamingoes and pelicans) that are resident to this beautiful lake. From there we tour other sites within Nakuru National Park, including Makalia Falls, with the option of either staying at the campsite or spending the night at the lodge.


Day 3

Leave Nakuru and head for Maasai Mara via Narok, arrival in the late afternoon and setting up camp. There will also be the option of staying in a hotel or the tented camps.


Day 4

Day-long exploration of the vast and spectacular park. This will include an afternoon game drive.


Day 5

Depart for Nairobi, arrival in the afternoon, lunch at the hotel or in the environs. Afternoon spent at own leisure.


Lake Turkana via Chalbi Desert

Day 1

Depart from Nairobi via Mt. Kenya to the Samburu game reserve. Viewing of River Uaso-Nyiro and an overnight camp.


Day 2

Spend the day exploring and viewing the park and then head back to the camp.

 

Day 3
Depart and head to Marsabit, set up camp and explore the National park.

Day 4
Head back to the camp for an overnight stay at the edge of the Chalbi desert.

Day 5
Early departure and crossing through the desert, but this is highly dependent on the weather and so there are other alternate routes. Arrival at El Molo camp away from the scorching sun and heat.

Day 6
Spend the day relaxing. Visit the surrounding communities and enjoy the rich culture offered to us.

Day 7
Head back via Laikipia plains and Thompsons Falls in Nyahururu. Stop for lunch and then head back to Nairobi. The evening is spent at own pleasure.




B. High Budget Safaris

Day 1

  • 11.00am: Departure from Wilson airport to the Masai Mara
  • 11.50am: Met by the waiting all-terrain vehicle, and on the way to the hotel enjoy a short game drive.
  • 1.00pm: Lunch at the Mara Sarova camp; the afternoon is spent at own pleasure. There will be a game drive in the evening at 4.00pm. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the camp.


Day 2
The day will be spent at the park exploring and enjoying all that the Mara has to offer. There will be entertainment by the Mara Dancers in the evening. Diner and overnight stay will be at the Sarova Mara.

Day 3

  • 6.00am: Day begins with an early morning drive that will be followed by breakfast at 8.00am.
  • 10.30am: You will be transported to the Mara airstrip for your return flight to Nairobi.

N.B: please note that there are flights available at different times of the day and this may cause the itinerary to differ slightly.




C. Town stays

Picked up from the airport and transferred to the apartments.

Day 1
Pick up after breakfast to the National Park; perfect place for enjoying the scenery and for a photography session. Lunch at 1.30 pm, this will be followed by a visit to the Bomas of Kenya where you can learn a lot about the diverse Kenyan culture. Late evening spent at own leisure. Dinner at 7.30 pm

Day 2
Early pick up at 7.00pm for Paradise Lost in Kiambu which is a few kilometres away from Nairobi. The rest of the day will be spent exploring the camp and enjoying Nyama Choma (roast meat) and side dishes - alternatives vegetarian dishes available. Camp will be set up for overnight stay where dinner will also be had and it is advised that drinks be carried and enjoyed around the camp fire. (Drinks could also be bought at the camp).

Day 3
Early morning pick up and heading for Mt. Kenya via Naru Moru. Lunch at the Mt. Kenya Lodge that will be followed by a two hour excursion and then departure to Nairobi. Arrival at the apartment around 7.30 pm followed shortly after by dinner at 8.30 at a local restaurant.

Day 4
Early departure for Nakuru through the Great Rift Valley. Enjoy the beautiful scenery as you take photos. Arrival at   the apartment at around 10.00 am. Spend the rest of the morning at leisure. Spend the afternoon at Lake Baringo allowing a glimpse of Lake Nakuru. There will be an option of an overnight stay at camp/ lodge or drive back to the apartment.

Day 5
Leave the apartment at 10.00 am for the Lake Nakuru National Park. Early morning game drive that will be followed by lunch at the Lodge. Afternoon game drive will follow. Departure to the apartment and the rest of the evening will be spent at own pleasure. Dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 6
Depart for Nairobi, arrival at about 11.30 am, relax and enjoy lunch. Afternoon visit to the Maasai Market to buy gifts and souvenirs. The evening will be spent at the Carnivore Restaurant; eating and dancing the night away.

N.B: Dinner and lunch can be had at a local restaurant or a fast food joint or they could be prepared for you at the apartment at an extra cost.




D. Home Stays

Week 1
This week will be spent with the hosting family, enjoying the rich culture that the families have to offer. In the course of the week you will get to go to many of the top leisure spots and they include: the national museum, the national park, Karen Blixen, various dance and night clubs, the village market, ice skating at Hotel Panari just to mention but a few.

There will be excellent accommodation provided to you by the hosting family and a good cuisine to match it. Dinner and lunch at fast food restaurants will also be organised at your request.

Week 2


Day 1

Take the early morning flight to the coastal town of Mombasa. From the airport you will be picked up and taken to Shasha camp that is located in Voi, and is well known for its serene environment and bird watching. The rest of the day will be spent going round the coastal attractions such as Fort Jesus, and Lamu (one of the oldest towns with narrow streets that make it impossible to use a car. Their mode of transport here is riding a donkey or by foot). Dinner can be organised at the famous Tamarid Dhow or it could be enjoyed back at Shasha Camp.

Day 7
Drive to the Tsavo West National Park and spend the day there enjoying what the park has to offer. Lunch, dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.

Day 8
Depart for Nairobi with the 9.00am flight and spend the rest of the day at own leisure.

N.B: the journey to the coast can also be by road and this, if taken as an option, will cause the itinerary to change slightly.



E. Mount Kenya

Day 1
Transfer from Nairobi to Mt Kenya Rock Hotel. Nature walk to Mau Mau waterfalls 2050 m (2,050 meters above sea level), 3hrs hike.

Day 2
Transfer to the Sirinon park gate, 2600m; begin the hike to the Old Moses Camp 3300m, 3hrs hike

Day 3
Ascent to shipton’s camp 4200m. Overnight stay 6-7 hours hike.

Day 4
Pre-dawn attempt at point Lenana 4985 m and descend to Minto’s area 4300m for an overnight stay. 6hrs hike.

Day5
Descend to the Chogoria Park gate 3000m for an overnight stay. 6hrs hike

Day 6
Hike down slowly and connect with vehicle to transfer to Nairobi.


 


F. Honeymoon Package

Wedding Night

Spent at the Hotel Boulevard or the Fairview hotel both of which are located in serene environments.

Day 1
Depart from Nairobi in the morning and enjoy a drive along the Nairobi-Mombasa highway to Amboseli which is home to the Great Five (wildlife), and many more. Dinner and overnight stay at the Sentrim lodge.

Day 2
A day filled with game drives through the beautiful park. Dinner and overnight stay at the Sentrim Lodge.

Day 3
After breakfast transfer to the airstrip where you will be transferred to Nairobi to connect a flight to Samburu. Dinner and overnight stay at the Sentrim  Lodge, Samburu.

Day 4
A day filled with game drives at the Samburu game reserve. Dinner and overnight stay at the Sentrim  Lodge, Samburu.

Day 5
After breakfast trip to the airstrip for a transfer flight to Nairobi.

P.S: On the final day there is an option of heading back by road so as to enable you have a scenic journey back to Nairobi.
